4.2. RLCD2378 System Block Diagram

The RLCD2378 board incorporates an F2378VF034 (H8S/2378) in a 144-pin QFP package from the H8S

group of microcontrollers, designated as U1.

Figure 5-2 shows the RLCD2378 block diagram.

4.3. The RLCD2378 System

The RLCD2378 System consists of the H8S/2378, SRAM, Flash ROM, a touch screen interface and

supporting circuitry on two PCB to drive the included LCD display. Below is a detailed description of the

system components.

4.3.1. RSKH8S2378 Board

The RSKH8S2378 includes the H8S/2378 and support circuitry. Note that to operate the LCD display,

SW2 on the RSK has been disabled. For normal operation, J6 must be shorted, J11 open, and

SW5 set to NORMAL. For details on the RSK, please consult the RSKH82378 User’s Manual.

4.3.2. RLCD2378 Daughter Board

The daughter board consists of a 1M x 16 Cypress SRAM which is typically used for frame buffers,

2M x 16 Samsung flash to store images, and power and support logic. The external memory is word

accessible only. The 74ALVC126 is used on the touch screen interface to provide high current drive.
