Shelf interfaces

The following shelf I/Os are monitored by the SPM through a 3x32 pin connector.

Thermal sensors

The SPM supports thermal sensors located in the shelf through an I

C bus.

Air filter switch sensors

The SPM monitors two air filter switches mounted so that the switches open if the air filter is

improperly installed, misaligned, or removed. This function tells the system software when the

air filter is installed properly in the shelf.

iButton

One digital I/O connects to an iButton on the backplane. The iButton stores shelf FRU and other

information.

Shelf display panel

The SPM provides an I

C interface to the SDP and monitors the SDP presence and alarm

acknowledge signals.
